Monthly Mastermind Series

 

Waterford Chamber Skillnet in collaboration with Waterford Chamber will run a Monthly Mastermind Series commencing on Monday, 30th January.

 

For our first workshop: Richard Burke of Resilience Matters

 

Join Richard for a special bitesize version of his IITD award winning programme the Resilient Mind and plan for the year ahead.

 

Over this two hour session Richard will discuss:

  • What is stress
  • Types of organisational stressors
  • How your mind works
  • The fight and flight response
  • How your mind works
  • Fear and Courage
  • Fear and danger
  • Anxiety and withdrawal
  • Coping mechanisms
  • Why we take things personally

 

Hour 1 is facilitator-led and hour 2 will be audience-led and will allow the audience to ask Richard to expand on or discuss topics.

The speakers in the Mastermind series will present on a specialised topic or field of the speakers area of profession or expertise.

Waterford Chamber Skillnet

 

 

Waterford Chamber Skillnet focuses on the critical skills required to improve the performance of member companies. The aim of the network is to identify common training needs, deliver training locally using the highest caliber trainers, dramatically reduce training costs through collaboration and attract grant aid from the National Training Fund through Skillnet Limited.

 

Any company that wishes to become a member of the Waterford Chamber Skillnet can benefit from being apart of a 40 member strong network with companies from similar industries deciding what training they need as well as how, where and when it should be delivered. This allows staff to participate in relevant, flexible and cost effective training, enabling companies to become more competitive and increase the internal long term career opportunities and employability of staff.

 

We now provide limited places to jobseekers free of charge (terms & conditions apply).

 

Please note that courses marked JSSP are part of the Jobseekers Support Programme and are available free of charge to all unemployed who wish to cross-skill / up-skill.

Safe Pass Training

 

The next safe pass course will be on Saturday, 25th February (FULLY BOOKED) and Saturday, 11th March from 8am–5pm at the Woodlands Hotel, Waterford. The course will be delivered by Ken Walsh Workplace Safety & Health Practitioners. Group bookings and in-house training are also available. Cost is €110 per person which can be paid on the day by cash or cheque. Contact Waterford Chamber at 051 872639 to book a place. If you are booking a place on behalf of someone else, please check if that person will be available on the date of the course before booking.

 

Please note that safe pass courses are restricted to a maximum of 20 people per course so if a course is fully booked we cannot take further bookings.

 

Construction workers are bound by law to hold a valid Safe Pass card. Safe Pass training is provided to ensure that all site personnel undergo basic health and safety awareness training with a view to making a positive contribution to the prevention of accidents and avoidance of health hazards.

 

Notes:

  • Participants must bring a passport-sized photo and their PPS number on the day of the course
  • Participants must be over 16 years of age and have a good command of the English language
  • Participants arriving after the course commences will not be permitted entry
  • A safe pass card is valid for 4 years from the date of training. If you already have a safe pass card you can check when it expires by looking at the last four digits of the number on the card which represent the month and year of expiry in the format of MMYY (where MM=Month and YY=Year)
