Waterford City has been shortlisted in the Retail Excellence Friendliest Place Awards, which are designed to drive standards in retail operations and town centres throughout the country.

Commenting on the news, Gerald Hurley, Waterford Chamber CEO said, “This is a testament to all the great work by Waterford City & County Council and other stakeholders in developing the city centre and to the standards of customer care and hospitality of local businesses. Waterford is consistently winning and ranking highly in these types of awards, in terms of hospitality, urban regeneration, safety, cleanliness and so on. The challenge now is to maintain and improve on these standards, and we look forward to the announcement of the overall winner in November.”
