Bank of Ireland Ardkeen Enterprise Village

Bank of Ireland was the proud organiser of the Ardkeen Enterprise Village, held over two days on Friday and Saturday last. The event was officially opened by Major Adam Wyse, with Laurent Borla, representing Waterford Chamber of Commerce in his capacity as President.

In total 140 businesses and organisations took part in the event to exhibit, network and celebrate all things Ardkeen. On behalf of Bank of Ireland, Head of County Waterford, Pamela Pim and Paul Muldowney, Branch Manager in Ardkeen said they were delighted to work with all of the exhibitors, speakers and participants who used the opportunity to showcase the best of what is on offer locally and from around County Waterford.

The local community and the Enterprise Town Committee embraced the initiative wholeheartedly and a very exciting programme of activity was organised with something for people of all ages and interests. Over the two days, the venue was full to capacity and it was a fantastic opportunity to see the level of enterprise that exists in Ardkeen.

Each Enterprise Town also has the option to undertake a fundraising drive for a local cause. In Ardkeen the Bunny Fun Run raised €500 for the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation which included donations being matched by Bank of Ireland through its ‘Give Together’ charity and community initiative.

Testimonial from Aidan McAvinue, Chartered Accountants & Registered Auditors, Ardkeen: “This was a great event to showcase our firm and our people to the community we live in and at the same time to get to meet lots of people and organisations in our local community. Well done to all in Bank of Ireland in bringing the Enterprise Village concept to Ardkeen.  It was one of the most successful events we have been involved with.”

Testimonial from Jason King, Event Organiser for Fun Run: “On behalf of the Bunny Fun Run in aid of the Children's Medical and Research Foundation we would like to thank Bank of Ireland for hosting the Enterprise Village event.  A very welcoming enjoyable experience was had by the Bunny Fun Run team on the day.
