Mayor of Waterford City and County Council, Cllr Adam Wyse, cut the ribbon on the new self-service lobby at AIB Bank, The Quay, at a Corporate evening co-hosted with Waterford Chamber.
The new self-service lobby is now open 364 days of the year from 8am to 9pm and is a significant move marking another important milestone in the bank's customer-led strategy.
Speaking at the event Waterford Chamber President Laurent Borla said: “The investment by AIB Bank shows their commitment to Waterford and I’m led to believe the branch here on the Quay is only one of a select few who have been approved for such a modern and dynamic transformation.”
Over the past number of years, AIB Bank has transformed its business to be more focussed on customer needs, with flexible banking hours, the latest in in-branch technologies and significant improvements in mobile and online banking.
AIB Bank Branch Manager Marian Keane thanked the invited guests for their attendance and continued custom. She said, as a team, they are extremely pleased with the refurbishment and look forward to bringing the banking experience to a whole new level for the customer. “We are proud and delighted that our Branch was one of the flagship branches to be chosen for this level of upgrade and we are one of 20 branches in the Country to have a Lobby with extended opening hours. This is thanks to the support of the people of Waterford and its environs who have supported AIB over many years.”
