SME Support for Lighting Upgrades pilot grant scheme

SEAI want to help you reduce your energy use and costs, making you more competitive as a result. To do this, we have recently launched our Smart Lighting grant scheme which will support you in carrying out a lighting upgrade.

 

Energy efficient lighting can save you up to 90% on your annual lighting electricity costs!

 

Eligible applicants are SMEs with less than 50 employees from the following sectors:

 

  • Fitness Centres
  • Retailers
  • Small Hotels / Large B&Bs
  • Pharmacies
  • Nursing Homes
  • Jewellers

 

SEAI will cover up to 40% of the cost of replacing existing lighting. This lighting must be in working order and in a building that is in general use at the time of the application.

 

Technologies covered include:

 

  • New energy efficient light products. These products must be on the SEAI triple E register and eligible for Accelerated Capital Allowance.
  • Lighting controls.

Employment Permits and Visas Information Seminar

 

Employment Permits

 

IDA Ireland South East Region will host an information seminar on employment permits and visas on Wednesday, 12th July 2017.

 

Fiona Ward and Conor Stokes from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation (Employment Permits Section) will speak about employment permit legislation, the application process, appeals and future developments. They will also outline the Trusted Partner Initiative which aims to streamline the application process for employers when applying for permits.

 

Representatives from the Department of Justice will also cover the areas of Visas and the Atypical Working Scheme.

 

Time will also be allocated to a questions and answers section.

 

The seminar will take place at Studio one, WIT Arena, Carriganore, Butlerstown, Waterford and will commence at 9.00am and is scheduled to finish by 11.00am.

 

Registration is from 8.45am and tea, coffee & refreshments will be provided.

Future of Fintech in Ireland and the UK

 

Chamber members are invited to a Fintech conference from 9.30am to 1pm on Tuesday, 27th June, held in the stunning Westin Hotel in Dublin. This event has been organised by the UK Department for International Trade and BITA.

 

This exclusive event will be moderated by Peter Oakes of Fintech Ireland and Fintech UK and will feature an impressive selection of speakers on a number of panel discussions and keynotes discussing the Irish and UK Fintech markets, the emerging area of Regtech, funding considerations for companies looking to scale and why the UK continues to be the location for Irish companies to take their business to the next level.

Seminar: 'Quality as an Essential Component of Export Development'

A Free Seminar in association with Glanbia Ingredients Ireland, Ornua and Teagasc

 

The National Dairy Council will host a seminar – “Quality as an Essential Component of Export Development” – on Wednesday, 14th June, 2017 in the Park Hotel Dungarvan. This seminar will be followed by a farm walk hosted by Teagasc on the dairy farm of the Power Family, winners of the 2016 NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards.

Delegates of the NDC seminar will form the first group of invited guests to take part in a tour of the Power Family Farm at Drumhills Farm, Cappagh, Co. Waterford at 1.30pm (full details and directions below).

 

The farm walk, hosted by Teagasc, will open to members of the public from 2pm that afternoon. It is a great opportunity for dairy farm families and new entrants into dairy farming to see at first-hand the types of achievable steps which can raise quality standards and help to maintain those standards throughout the year.
